Just another day at the mall

Hunting around for some great transitional wear isn’t always easy. So many designers have whipped up some very yummy creations for spring summer however since not all budgets are socialite worthy contemporary fashion needs to cut it. In saying this right now two of my favorite collections are Tory Burch and DVF. Something exciting in fashion right now is the DVF use of andy Warhol prints with floor length dresses starting at 375$ and Tory Burch has kept her collection consistent with the use of tweeds bright colours and classic bags in beige and black. Now I’m saving my pennies because I’m off to Las Vegas in five days but Tory Burch has left me inspired so I will be shop shop shopping her collection at Barneys.

What about all of you what are some fave collections of yours maybe J brand, M missoni, Elizabeth and James let me know

Happy Shopping

In this day and age it seems that we all have these very powerful, very well connected lives all over the web. You can live in the amazon and somehow magically have facebook, you can work around the clock, and still find time to online date. If you ask me it is beyond maddening, however I am heavily involved.

For the last year and a bit, I have thrown myself into the world of blogging, and twitter (to say the very least), and they seem to work for me, and are acting as my guiltiest pleasure. Twitter is probably the most effective way of marketting oneself, and facebook seems like an easy way to creep and spy, however what will the next year or two bring as a hot phenomenons on the web.

Cast your vote, and lets see if we are all on the same page.

Juicy Couture Store To Open In Yorkdale Mall

Juicy Couture Invitation to BID

Bird By Juicy Couture

Here is some huge news for both people in contracting, and to all of you fashionistas. There will be a Juicy Couture Store opening in Yorkdale Mall come late May 2010. I found out about this hot new topic through PC Metal Fabrications who have been asked to bid on the 2,185 sq. foot space.

I’ve gone through all of the drawings, and this store is ging to look gorgeous. They are currently inviting industry leaders to bid on everything from Drywall, to ornamental metals, to fabrication, to painting, and electrical, and I’m crossing my fingers that I will get more involved on the project.

Drop me a comment if you are looking for details, and for the potential to bid, and I will be sure to relay the message on to Elder Jones Inc. The developers of the store.

Now my biggest concern is this…… Will they or will they not be carrying BIRD by Juicy Couture. Off the records I’m obsessed with all the cotton basics and their oversized proportions.

5 Fashion Blogs You Need to Know

With Blogs, and new websites popping up left right and centre, it is really difficult, and might I add time consuming to weed out the good from the bad. The glamorous, from the lacklustre, the crap from the creme de la creme.

As a stylist I rely on countless magazines, and basic websites like www.style.com for concepts, ideas and trends, however these five blogs  are a huge part of my fashion artillery.

www.iwantigot.com – Editor Anita Clarke gives readers the inside scoop on upcming brands, massive sales alerts, and shares with the world (specifically her base of 40,000+ readers a month) a sneak peak into her email inbox so none of us are left out. Always tweeting, and at every highliner fashion event this is one woman to watch, and a blog you simply cannot live without. Might I add she was the inspiration behind a dedicated blogger window of luxury department store Holt Renfrew only a few months ago. Congratulation Geekigirl

www.foryoursatisfashion.com – This singer song writer may be young, and new to the blogging world but his punk rock image, with a mix of high end pieces like Hermes Cuffs, and Jeremy Scott runners make him an edgy fashionista. His blog brings you behind the scenes of fashion parties, and events throughout Toronto, and his use of photoshop gives readers magazine worthy ads of his favourite must haves. Look to him to learn about trends, and noveau pieces to instantly update you wardrobe. Might I add he’s topping the blogger charts on twitter with over 6,000 followers.

www.finalfashion.ca – This Illustrator fashionista lets you into her world of whimsical drawings, adn fantasy fashion. Timid, and petite, this “NOT TO IN YOUR FACE” blogger illustrates all things fashion, and has recently launched a book of paper dolls. It’s a great classic, and the perfect present for that birthday girl, or boy who has everything, and still wants more.

www.bryanboy.com Bryanboy has pretty much been plastered on everything from Vogue Nippon, to Teen Vogue, to countless newspapers in Asia, America, and Europe. An infamous front row face at New York Fashion week, and muse to Marc Jacobs this blogger makes the third world the chicest place to be. Trotting around in Rad Hourani, Chanel jackets, and Birkin bags, his blog is the best in crass, over the top high glamour. From behind the scenes at Dolce and Gabbanna, to pictures wandering the streets he is by far the fashion world’s guiltiest pleasure. Highlights of his career include a Marc Jacobs bag named after him, a seat at Fashion week next to Anna Wintour, and a closet better then a socialites. Well Daphne Guiness is still hard to beat, but you get the point.

www.opheliasfuneral.blogspot.com – This Toronto photographer snapped a picture of me at the sustainable fashion show R4Fashion, and since that I have been hooked on her blog. Beautiful pictures of streets, nature, and of course beautiful people (HELLO SHE FEATURED ME AFTER ALL) this is one blooming blog that has potential to be the next big thing.

Happy Reading Everyone

Binding Two Worlds Together!

Lucian Matis

Front Row at Lucian Matis F/W 09

Hello Everyone,

As some of you may already know my name is Dag Larsen, and back in 2009, I started a humble little blog called DL styling. As much as I love fashion, the industry, the advertising, and of course the shopping, I felt like I was leaving people out of the loop on what my life is all about.

The truth is, I’m kind of a double agent if you will. From 8-5 Monday through Friday I work in the construction industry doing everything from accounting, to roofing, to painting, to deliveries, and on evenings and weekends I am Dag Larsen personal, and editorial stylist. It sounds totally obscure when I tell people this, however it is my life, and it is a life that I love. A divided passion if you will.

Now I’m taking a giant leap of faith, abandoning DL styling, and starting new and fresh, with one goal.

This blog will teach you about builders, developers, and suppliers in construction, and then I will show you what couture my construction money is buying me. I’ll bring you all behind the closed doors of events like the World Of  Concrete show in Las Vegas, then to the PR showrooms of great designers from Toronto, to Montreal, to New York, and maybe on the scenes of a new construcion site.

Stay tuned for the twists and turn, and total maddening tribulations that are my life as a double agent
